Measure during normal performance use, not idle. If the reading moves, enter the highest sustained value.
How to take a reliable measurement
Measure your system during standard use for the most accurate result. Your measurement should be taken while the system is operating the way it normally will during rehearsal or performance. Do not use idle, quiet, or partially powered readings for sizing. If your meter reading fluctuates, size from the highest sustained number you see, not the average; brief peaks are what trip an inverter.
